Somebody said it is better to live Than linger in pause Like the cold-bodied stiff But nobody knows What it's like to be dead A long thoughtless calm Or the will to exist If we will go, be it heaven, be it hell Nobody knows what it's like To be someone else I find it odd to be moved to a tear As strange as to laugh As sane as to fear For all of the words we're never gonna tell Nobody know what it's like To be someone else The hangman submits He is hung above the law The gavel is split The effect is the cause But how can you pay If you don't know the cost If somebody's gain Is too somebody's loss If we are brave Or we're crying out for help Nobody knows what it's like To be someone else All that we are is all we can recall We keep what we want Forget what we don't We carefully shape What we're telling to ourselves But nobody knows what it's like To be someone Nobody, nobody How can anybody know What it's like to be someone else

One day you're born One day you'll die Gotta look like an angel in your mother's eye Gotta grow like a sparrow for someday you'll fly Aint gotta thing but time And then you're grown Gonna get your kicks Do you run to the devil and his clever tricks Do you make the kinda worries you can never fix To keep for all this time One day you gotta do like your daddy's right Gotta go to work and pay your fines Well you've got some dreams But you've got some time And I got things I call mine There's always something else to do The wants are many but times are few A little bit older, but you'll start things soon I'm sure there is still time Got a little man inside my head A selfish beggar with a nagging beg A three-eyed devil with a gift to tempt Goddamn you devil mine An old man passes by a young man's stoop The old man's jealous of the young man's youth Somewhere I was once a young man too Where did go all my time Full of grace The eyes of babes Who cast their gaze in awe Now in grey For God I wait My pace remains a crawl I clung to the moment, but the moment passed It seems I couldn't make the good ones last I ran from the devil, but the devil's fast Goddamn you devil time And then death catches up to you The road was steady and the stops real few But regrets were many and you found no truth Goddamn you devil mine Goddamn you devil time Goddamn you devil die

Fate, kissing all the snakes Heavy is the weight of the world That you can't navigate And the boys are in the band And we're travelling land to lang And the girls are in the corner Selling shirts to pay for gas This aint the life that your mamas and papas are used to This aint the life that your mamas and papas are used to Same, creeping up the chain Ready for the fame and the world, but you still gotta wait Cause your songs are too long And your lyrics are too strong Well we really like your style But the music is all wrong This aint the life that your mamas and papas are used to This aint the life that your mamas and papas are used to Fate, twisted up the reins Ready for the way to unfurl, but it's drenched in a haze And the boys are in the band And we're traveling land to land And the girls are in the corner Selling shirts to pay for gas This aint the life that your mamas and papas are used to This aint the life that your mamas and papas are used to

Dressed in white ice At the Bodega, Bodega Clams were quite nice At the Fadaroo Caravan Questing for purpose The Shamans appall us Joy is the warmth In the long arms of Fadaroo Fault us not how cleverly we lie For the world is cold And shivering am I Shivering am I Blessed be the light We were searching and searching for Raise to the night We have come upon Babylon I see a moment That's passing to past things Posed as a cloud On a string by a vagabond Fault us not how cleverly we lie For the world is cold And shivering am I Shivering am I Every night we drank alone Ten crates of red wine to warm up our bones Sipped in stifled fascination Fast asleep on ice Let's all meet at the Bodega Let's all meet at the Bodega Let's all meet at the Bodega Let's all meet at the Bodega Bodega Nights

Please Mother hit me It's what I need Your strikes are painless For I have more tricks up my sleeve Someday you'll see I've my own bag of tricks I'm stronger than I was before I'm sure that you'll be doing well While your sweet children burn in Hell A burden that you wish you could ignore Dear Mother I have no religion And I know that I won't burn in hell And I know that I'm always forgiven But you'll always question yourself Please mother hit me It's what I need Your blows are sunshine Beaming on atomic seed Go get your jollies from your crucifix It's always saved your soul before I'm sure that you'll be doing well While your sweet children burn in Hell A burden that you wish you could ignore Dear Mother I have no religion And I know that I won't burn in hell And I know that I'm always forgiven But you'll always question yourself Yes you'll always question yourself
